The Brief
Proici delivered an office design and office refurbishment project in Cambridge, transforming a former workshop into Artisan HQ – a modern workspace designed to support collaboration, electrical production and digital content creation.
Artisan, a rapidly growing electrical and renewable energy company with a strong YouTube presence, purchased the Cambridge property to create a headquarters that reflects the next stage of their business. The building, originally a woodworkers’ workshop, offered character and space but required a complete refurbishment to support the needs of a modern electrical company.
The goal was to create “Artisan HQ” – a combined workspace, workshop and creative hub that reflects the brand their audience recognises online while giving the team a professional environment designed for collaboration, flexibility and growth.
A Workspace Built Around the Brand
The headquarters centres around an open plan workspace designed to support collaboration while maintaining the character of the original building. The pitched ceiling was retained and left exposed, helping preserve the workshop heritage of the property while creating a bright and spacious environment.
New lighting, acoustic treatments and integrated planting were introduced to improve comfort across the workspace. Within the interior, branded finishes including cork and moss feature walls help bring warmth, texture and a strong sense of identity to the space.
A low bench desk positioned against the branded green wall creates a practical workspace area and a clear focal point within the office. The illuminated Artisan logo helps connect the physical environment to the brand recognised by the company’s growing online audience, ensuring the headquarters feels authentic to the business.
Collaboration and Social Hub
A compact tea point was introduced to act as an informal gathering space within the headquarters. Positioned close to the main working areas, it encourages the team to step away from their desks and connect throughout the working day.
Although modest in size, the tea point plays an important role in supporting workplace culture by creating opportunities for informal conversations, quick breaks and spontaneous collaboration.
Shared spaces such as this help strengthen team relationships while contributing to a more relaxed and welcoming workplace atmosphere, adding a social dimension to the headquarters that supports both wellbeing and day-to-day communication.
Content Creation Studio
With a large and highly engaged online YouTube audience, Artisan required a dedicated space for filming and content production as part of their headquarters. A green screen studio was incorporated into the building to support video creation, demonstrations and training content.
The studio allows the team to produce professional content directly from their workspace, integrating their digital presence with day-to-day operations and giving the business a dedicated environment for audience-led communication.
By incorporating the studio within the wider refurbishment project, Artisan HQ now supports both the operational side of the business and the company’s growing role as an online educator within the electrical sector.
