Proici were approached to carry out the design and refurbishment of Interflon’s UK Head Quarters and main distribution centre in Stockton-on-Tees which required a total overhaul of their 2-storey head office and warehouse premise.

The challenge was to transform their existing dated office space into an engaging agile workspace representing interflon’s brand values through a bold industrial design langauge.

The new first-floor spatial configuration allows for a combination of private executive office spaces and agile work locations where employees can meet and collaborate informally. The existing tea point was re-designed and refurbished, flowing seamlessly into the agile settings, providing an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

A focal feature is the new bespoke constructed shipping container style cladding which encapsulates the walls of the central stairwell, rising from the Ground floor level and continuing through on to the First-floor space. This cladding creates an industrial aesthetic centrepiece within the working environment. A black feature bulkhead which runs diagonally across the full length of the office, visually unites the space, creating a seamless transition from the furthest corner of the tea point, through all of the Agile settings and terminates at the entrance to the business owners office, telling a subliminal story.

The Ground Floor warehouse space was augmented into a new flexible training suite and technical hub where collaborative workshops, product training and demonstration sessions could be hosted. A new tea-point was created, giving a social focus and providing a facility for on-site catering and refreshments when hosting events.

Both floors benefit from various types of acoustic systems, such as acoustic panels and baffles, which aid in the dampening and absorption of noise pollution while also segregating spaces within the open plan design.
