Porter brook leasing, one of the UKs leading rolling stock companies, reached out to Proici with the challenge to update, refurbish and modernise their outdated, tired office space in Derby in order to accommodate their business growth.

Springing into action, we promptly arrived on site to create a comprehensive site survey before drafting an initial in-depth space plan and mood board.

A modern white and black palette was chosen for the new space to give the space a clean and sophisticated aesthetic with vibrant green biophilic elements to draw the eye away and give the office space some Non-Rhythmic Sensory Stimuli.

The main challenge was accommodating a large number of employees into the compact workspace, while maintaining health and safety regulations, therefore great consideration was taken when planning seating and workstation arrangements that would meet both these standards and fulfil business requirements.

In order to create an open plan tea point layout with a bench island for members to congregate on during lunch, we completely deconstructed the previous existing tea point and removed the partitions separating it from the office area and replaced the all the units with new, modern finishes.

On the outside border of the open-plan office, acoustic double-glazed partitions were utilised to establish individual segregated private spaces, some of which included frosted glass manifestations for more seclusion and privacy without reducing natural light levels.
