6 Simultaneous Nationwide Projects Design & Built by Proici | Fit Out | Furniture | Learning Facilities

Shaw Trust approached Proici with the intention of renovating six buildings in six locations as part of a rollout strategy in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice. One of the most difficult aspects of this project was the short time frame for completion, with only five weeks to deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution for each location.

Because of the tight schedule, we had to work on numerous locations at the same time, and while they all had a similar essential concept, they all needed their own distinct aesthetics to make them stand out from one another. Additional hurdles came in the shape of building access concerns and late design changes, which required flexibility and inventiveness to get the project back on track in order to meet our tight deadline.

The project was designed for the Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with a Co-Financing Organization (CFO), to establish education, training, and meeting room spaces that provided privacy and security while also providing a relaxed, softer, coffee-shop ambiance. To entice individuals to attend the volunteer workshops, the MoJ needed to establish a friendly and welcoming environment. However, many of the sessions will be highly sensitive, necessitating the creation of several levels of seclusion. Innovative solutions were required to ensure security and privacy for meeting and training rooms, which also had to have excellent acoustics and high-spec, built-in audio-visual specifications.

Security was a critical factor of the brief, therefore we ensured the building was secure with access floor controls, CCTV and a good line of sight into each meeting room.
